Worry

As I woke up this morning and was praying, about my worries and concerns, I heard in the background the sound of my dog drinking water from his bowl.

It triggered a thought how it seems the only things my dog worries about are food and walks. I know too that many dog's do not have 'the good life' that my dog has. ... as he was once there too.

Back in my college days there was this saying, "Treat life like a dog ... if you can't eat it or play with it, piss on it and walk away".

When it comes to worry, I have this motto "If there is nothing you can do about it, then it's not worth the worry, so give it to God and wait for direction".

I learned this from when I worked for the late Joseph Cardinal Bernardin. I've heard him say to people, "If what you're worried about will make a difference in ten years, then do something about it. If not, then put it into God's hands and leave it with Him".

Many of us worry too much about things we can't control. This shows that we care, but when we really care I think it's best to leave that worry with God who knows what to do with it.

Have you ever thought that maybe God just needs us to get out of the way?

God's will is that we depend on Him. Prayer is a form of illustrating this.

So let us leave our worries in right perspective and be more happy.

Enjoy your day!
