The Cycle of Trash

Look at all of those trash receptacles. Do American’s really have that much garbage?

When I look at this picture it makes me think about how much food we have in this country. And how much of it we just dump that is left uneaten.

I also think about the number of mouths that can be fed just from what we all dump in the trash!

Its like people who drive very expensive cars. Although it may be in perspective of their income, just think about the more constructive things that could be done with their money if they bought a really nice Ford, and invested the difference in ( someone or ) something that doesn’t “depreciate”.

It seems like it would take a half-day for the garbage truck to collect from all those bins! Yet, how much more does God “collect” the trash that we create from our lives? We leave the clutter and pray that He cleans it up … and the cycle continues.

As Cardinal Francis George says: “The greatest poverty is not to know Jesus Christ”.

In other words, when I look at this picture, it is a good reminder how our lives are like a trash receptacle … what (garbage) we throw into it is what (garbage that) comes out of it.
