Sunset on the Trail by Frank J Casella

It was an overcast morning as my family went for our annual Mother’s Day walk on the trails of the 193 acres wetlands preserve adjacent to our home.


It was a peaceful time to be together and re-connect with the bigger picture of life in nature.


While on the home stretch of the trail, the sun began to peek out in front of us, illuminating the clouds. This was like a sign of hope that we made it through, which made me smile.


I like overcast days because you know the sun is always behind the clouds, even though you don't see it.


It's like God is there but you don't see Him. Then when you least expect it, when you need that boost of inspiration, He illuminates the path you are on, a sign of His love ... if you're mindful of His presence in your life.
