I love the morning sunlight in this photograph, as well as the lines from the buildings, and curves form the architecture. The people and vibe of the city play into all this.

Look at all those windows!

It makes me think about the number of people behind each one, or not. And about audience and impact. In other words, how in my last post I shared that many Artists say they have to be on all the Social Media channels because followers like to find them on the SM channel they spend time with. And how I find that when you offer an email list all these followers share the emails, if the content is quality, and build the 'tribe' if you will.

Those windows speak to me about (size and impact of) tribe.

Likewise, I find the same thinking with regards to the number of platforms artists offer their work for sale. There are more and more POD (Print On Demand) sites startups each year, who offer millions and millions of artworks. The thinking, then, is to offer their artwork everywhere because something is better than nothing … and it's all about being 'found'.

The thing is, most of the POD sites sell the artwork at a set fee, and provide each vendor / artist a set commission. Personally, I prefer to sell only with the branded websites of Fine Art Amercia (Pixels.com, MobilePrints.com, Licensing.Pixels.com, and my own Artist Website: FrankJCasella.Pixels.com). I do this because they are not only the largest platform - like Amazon and YouTube and iTunes - for the fine art world, they also have the greatest business model in my opinion, where they believe in supporting artists by allowing them to set their own prices and also are supported by the largest commission structure.

What happens, though, instead of pricing their work competitive with the other sites, many artists raise their pricing on Fine Art America. So by not keeping their prices with the standard best or volume sellers, this is what causes them to move and to sell on the other sites, competing against themselves.

So the question I hear most is if artists are on the largest branded site how do they get found? In my opinion, the answer firstly is not to post my artwork everywhere, rather to post my artwork with the trusted brand, who believes in art in culture by supporting artists. Informed customers and collectors see this. Society needs 'images' through works of art, that are examples of virtue and help form our thinking as a culture .. Art is not a luxury. Secondly, many artist wait to be found instead of causing themselves to be found .. which brings us back to tribe.

All of this to say, when an artist sells their artwork only with the trusted brand, it builds equity of their own brand as an artist.

Look at all those windows. And think about the people behind them. They 'all' one day will know where to find Casella Art Photography. Because they've 'all' one day would have heard of PIXELS.com

My objective as an Artist and Photographer is to get my artwork on as many walls possible, because my customers have something to say, through my artwork, to 'Speak - Without Saying A Word' if you will, to make a positive difference in the world.

Enjoy your day!
