Moving Forward

Many people I talk to are saying that 2016 has been a difficult year. They're all looking forward with hope to 2017.

Our U.S. President is talking about his legacy as he leaves office. Have you ever thought about your legacy? I have not.

For me, legacy doesn't mean if people remember you as we move forward in life. Legacy for me means what contributions does our life make so the world is a better place to live ... whether or not people remember you for it.

This reminds me of something I read about the late Zig Ziglar in his book 'Embracing the Struggle'. It was towards the end of his life when he experienced a health set back, the doctor suggested to Zig that he could no longer do speaking engagements. So, he turned to his daughter and said something like "Well, I still have something to say, so we have to figure out how to change things to make this happen".

What about you, do you still have something to say? With your words, or through your work, or as a parent or son, or daughter? What changes can you make moving forward into a new year that will give your legacy impact?

For me, the comments on my pictures, and feedback from customers, are enough motivation that my pictures are transforming lives. It's not about me, but about the emotion in the Artwork. Next year I just need to make more pictures than I made in the last year.

Keeping you all in prayer, that God bless you where you need it most moving forward.

Happy New Year to you!
