Unmet Expectations

As you may know, I took the month of August 2021 to mostly stay offline because God, through the Holy Spirit, impressed on me to do this. When you give God the place to speak, He has a lot to say.

So I went into the month expecting to hear profound directions from God, but as the month was coming to an end I was getting frustrated as I had nothing profound to point to. However, when I transferred my unmet expectations into meeting God where He was at work through me, then things started to bloom.

God showed me the importance of what I am doing with pictures and words, and how I need to not take this for granted but, rather, be more bold and more sincere in my work being distinctive and unique. People need pictures, through works of Art, that are examples of hope and God’s love in the world.

I remember seeing the late Zig Ziglar at a conference when he asked the question “Are you a meaningful specific, or a wandering generality”.

When we go through the daily or weekly grind, as important as it may be, sometimes getting away from it can show us how that can be a sort of distraction from going deep with our own thoughts. That we can look to the world around us for answers when they are really deep down inside of us if we dare to look there.
