Square

The great environmental art photographer, Ansel Adams preferred square format for easy cropping and no need to rotate a camera for vertical shots. He saw no loss of performance with a cropped 6x6 image compared to an uncropped 6x7.

Likewise, with prints and framing, and greeting cards, you can frame the image, or be more creative and fit the image inside any shape frame you imagine. The square fits nicely into the greeting card format, horizontal or vertical, your choice!


I have recently become the curator and admin for two Artist Groups on Fine Art America, featuring works from the worlds greatest artists and photographers.

The key thing about Artist Groups is you can search images by subject or theme, and the featured images are curated by human eyeballs before they get a chance to be ranked by the website.
